Lescott: Liverpool’s defense is better than City
Coming to face Liverpool next weekend, former Manchester City player Joleon Lescott feels the team he once defended now has a very weak defense than his opponent.
In the opening game of the Premier League the Reds did get sharp criticism from the circles, including the football legend for having conceded three goals during a 3-3 draw Watford cons, which makes them doubtful to compete win this summer’s title.
However, in the last two games foster children Jurgen Klopp managed to clean sheet where not conceded each goal at the meet Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Interestingly opponents of the Gunners they actually managed to win big at Anfeld. While Manchester Blue despite winning the first 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion but in the second and third games each face Everton and Bournemouth goalkeeper Ederson Moraes must vibrate.
With these records then Lescott believes the Reds back line much better and can complicate the front-line City event though the weekend will be held in Etihad stadium. Even Jeleon suggest if you want the heart of Pep Guardiola’s foster children’s side want the best then Vincent Kompany Cs must stay fit throughout this season.
“I think for the front-line the two teams are really improving so the fact of the weekend will be a good test for both hearts of each team’s defense,” Jeleon Lescott told the media.
“At this moment may be Liverpool who have a better defense because they have played with each other much longer than Manchester City.
“As time passes, I’m sure the likes of Vincent Kompany stay fit throughout the season, where they have to show overall they have one of the best defenses in the league.”
After meeting at the weekend in the big macth game, the two English clubs will play in the Champions League where Liverpool will fight Seviilla. While David Silva Cs will face Feyenoord.
